June 9, 1948 - August 6, 2006
We who knew and loved Earl miss him daily!!! Sadly on August 6, 2006, Earl lost his battle with pancreatic cancer, but he definitely left his mark as an outstanding breeder of Himalayans and a hard worker in the CFA Midwest Region.
Earl was a member and officer of three show-producing CFA clubs in the Midwest Region - Lakes Country Cat Fanciers, Tiger's Lair Feline Fanciers and Cat Springs Irregulars. He set up many shows and served as show manager for all three clubs. And he loved it.
Earl (and I) bred five Distinguished Merit cats and Earl granded 48 cats, both of our breeding and other's breeding. He had four regional winners. His love of showing cats caused him to fly on an airplane to a show when he was showing Gene and rent a tuxedo (for an annual).
Earl received the Spotlight Award for the Midwest Region in 2006 because of his tireless work promoting CFA and CFA shows. The award meant so much to him.
